TLC launches its first smart glasses

Image
TCL has announced that it will start launching its first smart glasses on the global market in July. The new NxtWear G glasses look similar to regular sunglasses, but are equipped with two small OLED screens in place of the lenses, which can display photos and videos to the user so that their eyes appear as if they are displayed on a large 140-inch screen. These glasses got a USB-C DisplayPort connection cable to pair them with phones, tablets and laptops, including the recent Galaxy S phones from Samsung, MacBooks and iPads from Apple, and the function of this cable is to transfer data such as photos and videos from devices to the glasses to be displayed, as well as About that it saves energy for the glasses as they are not equipped with internal batteries. The sides of the glasses bodies are equipped with small speakers to display sounds while watching videos, but TCL recommends using additional headphones while watching to ensure that external noise is isolated. American Hustle

“Did you ever have to find a way to survive, and you knew your choices were bad—but you had to survive?” Most films go heavy on plot and light on characters, but I have to admit, I’m a sucker for strong characters even when the plot is not stellar. American Hustle , directed by David O. Russell ( Silver Linings Playbook , I Heart Huckabees ) and featuring an amazing all-star cast including Christian Bale, Amy Adams, Bradley Cooper, and Jennifer Lawrence, has amazing characters and performances, even if the plot meanders a bit more than it should. It’s also a ton of fun and a great slice of authentic 70s goodness, even though it came out in 2013. Every character, from the con man to his distant wife of convenience to his brilliant mistress and partner in crime to the overzealous FBI agent, has more vices than virtues, but they’re so complex and fleshed-out that I found myself mesmerized by the characters interacting on screen. If you want a complex and brilliant pl

Monster

“Yeah, I had a lot of dreams. And I guess you can call me a real romantic, because I truly believe that one day, they’ll come true. So I dreamed about it for hours. As the years went by, I learnt to stop sharing them with people. They said I was dreaming. But back then, I believed it wholeheartedly.” I’ll admit, I was a little scared to watch Monster . I’d heard all the great things about Charlize Theron’s performance and her transformation into this character, and I’m a fan of writer and director Patty Jenkins ( Wonder Woman ), but I was worried that the film would portray, well, a monster—a character without anything to like or attach to. There’s a place for films with highly unlikeable main characters (Hello, Scarface ), but they can easily go awry and just not be enjoyable to watch. I’m happy to say I did enjoy Monster —quite a bit, in fact. Immediately, in the opening monologue, I was intrigued by the real-life character of Aileen “Lee” Wuornos, a prostitute

12 Angry Men

12 Angry Men “We may be trying to let a guilty man go free, I don’t know. Nobody really can. But we have a reasonable doubt, and that’s something that’s very valuable in our system. No jury can declare a man guilty unless it’s sure.” There are some movies that nearly everyone would enjoy, and there are some movies that nearly everyone needs to see at some point in their lives. 12 Angry Men is universally loved (it’s one of the few films to achieve a 100% rating on movie review aggregator site Rotten Tomatoes), but it’s also one I think everyone needs to see. The movie is not only an excellent drama; it’s also an excellent primer on the American judicial system, and a great parable for justice and prejudice in the modern world. Directed by Sidney Lumet ( Dog Day Afternoon, Network ), this relatively simple movie is absolutely flawless and earns its place as one of the best films ever made. The story takes place almost entirely in one room where a jury is trying t

Escaping the horror in Ukraine is not an option

He doesn't understand the meaning of the air raid sirens. He is unaware of the destruction caused by Russian bombs dropping on Kyiv . He just wants to build towers from his toy blocks and press the buttons on his mom's phone that make it play songs and cartoons he likes. Vova, a pet name for Volodymyr, is 17 and has Opitz-Kaveggia syndrome, a rare genetic condition that causes severe intellectual disabilities. He needs round-the-clock care and anti-seizure medication that has become impossible to obtain as Russian troops close in on the Ukrainian capital, according to his mother, Natalia Komarenko. "We are unable to get the medicines we desperately need -- anticonvulsant drugs Levetiracetam and Lamotrigine. He has been taking them since he was 10," she told CNN. Evacuation is not an option for the Komarenkos because Vova's condition makes travel extremely risky. Vova, 17, is among one of thousands who cannot leave Kyiv because of health conditions. "
